Here's what artist Kim Leutwyler has to say about her workspace: "My relationship to this space is extremely intimate because it's in my home. It's not uncommon for me to roll out of bed and wander straight into the studio without getting dressed, brushing my teeth or eating. Luckily I get a coffee headache after a few hours which snaps me back to the real world." You're at The Right Space, shining a spotlight on the settings for creative genius.
The 'right space' of screenwriter and executive producer Craig Pearce! Pearce, who is based in Sydney, co-wrote with Baz Luhrmann the Australian classic 'Strictly Ballroom', as well as 'Romeo + Juliet', 'Moulin Rouge' and most recently 'The Great Gatsby.' We caught up with Pearce to talk about his very tidy workspace, his life as a globetrotting writer and his current project, 'Will' a TV series about the lost years of William Shakespeare, on which he is the executive producer and showrunner for TNT. We can tell you 'Will' is not what you'd expect!
Welcome to The Right Space, a podcast that explores the relationship between creatives and their workspace. We'll have writers, comedians, photographers, bloggers, producers, etc, people who write and/or create for a living and we'll talk to them about the spaces in which they work and why. What stories can those spaces tell us about the artist? It's property porn meets the interview. This is The Right Space.
